One of many bridges built by Valencian architect/engineer Santiago Calatrava. This bridge is interesting but not nearly as graceful as his Zubizuri footbridge in Bilbao. The most interesting thing about the bridge is that Calatrava also designed the subway station underneath it. The subway entrances have a very neat collapsing grating that covers it when closed.
