The Pavello Mies van der Rohe, was built as the German Pavillion for the 1929 International Exhibition in Barcelona. The building once again sits in its original site, it was rebuilt and restored in the 1980s. Years and years ahead of its time, the building seems familiar and inviting to us today. The Mies asthetic pervaded much of twentieth century architecture, so we're familiar with it. This was the building for which Mies designed his sensuous barcelona chair.
