The Seagram Building is absolutely iconic, a classic of modern architecture. It ushered in a new era of plazas and public spaces, and is the embodiment of Bauhaus-clean lines.

Here's one esoteric example of how iconic the building is, in Stephen Sohdheim's 1970 musical "Company," the hero, Robert is described by one of his friends:
"You know what comes to mind every time I see him? The Seagrams Building! Isn't that funny?"
