I've been working with alphabets for a while. My first attempt was a new york based alphabet that inspired this one. This was spurred on by the proposed ban on photographs inside the MTA New York City Subway. All of these letters come from sinage in stations in the subway. Some are new and some are old.

The hardest letter to find is Z. Queens Plaza, Queensboro Plaza, and Grand Army Plaza don't have mosaics. I didn't check Lefferts Blvd/Ozone Park or Zerega Ave in the Bronx, but since they are above ground, the mosaics are unlikely. This Z comes from the unadvertised Slattery Plaza at Woodhaven Blvd on the R-V-G lines in Queens.

I'm going to keep messing with this. I have a few hundred alternate letters, and I simply need to reshoot or find different ones. I'm shooting for better color rendering and variety. The F and I are some of the best, the G looks terrible and needs to be redone. Check back.
